F.O.B.S News

Hello fellow parents and guardians, this is F.O.B.S’ first news letter.   We aim to give you a termly update on what we are currently doing and what we plan to do.  We will also have a section on the school website so you can keep track of our progress there to!

First we would like to say a huge thank you to all of you for your support with donations and attendance to our fairs and other events throughout the school year. The money we raise together goes into helping to enrich our children’s school life either by subsidising coaches for the pantomime or seaside trips or providing extra equipment that the children can use in class.

Soon we will have our own notice board in the playground so you will be able to see what events we have coming up, dates for meetings and some information about our core members. We also hope to have a suggestion box in the main reception so if you have any ideas you think will help F.O.B.S raise money for our children you will have somewhere you can put them for us to see or if you prefer face to face come along to a meeting or speak to one of us in the playground.

Here is a brief introduction of our core members: -

Children- former pupils.

I live in the surrounding area. I am interested in setting a good example for my children, fostering good community relationships and it is nice to have a sense of “giving back”. I have a long history with the school being a former pupil myself and I am also a governor.

Children- Alisha year 5 and Umar Nursery.

I enjoy being social and meeting other parents. I love feeling involved with the school activities and it also makes my children happy and proud knowing Mum is helping with events. I find it can also boost their confidence.

Children- One in year 4 and one in Nursery.

I think being part of F.O.B.S encourages children and parent social skills and helps me to be a good role model for my children. I find it builds my confidence and my relationships with other parents and it also helps to build a good relationship with the teachers too.

Children- Aizah year 4, Abdullah year 3 and Zainab Nursery.

I feel being part of F.O.B.S will give me a fantastic opportunity to be involved with parents from various backgrounds and learn more about different cultures and faiths. I am looking forward to working as part of a team to help improve things for our school community. I believe my skills and experience can be put to good use to help us achieve our goals.

Kelly (Chair)

Children- Liam year 5 and Sophie year 2.

My family joined the school 3 years ago and I was asked to join F.O.B.S in the first month. Since then I have enjoyed working with other parents and staff to raise funds to help our school community. I enjoy being able to give something back to the school and seeing how the money we raise helps to enrich the children’s time at school.

At the Christmas Fair, we will have a stall so please come and talk to us about our future plans or to volunteer at future events.

Yours Sincerely,

The FOBS Team.
